A weekend celebrating filmmaking, with workshops, talks and screenings for emerging talent.
For the last three years, we’ve co-designed and curated, with Jameson Irish Whiskey and film producer Dana Brunetti, a notable filmmaker experience in Los Angeles. The Jameson First Shot Weekender is a series of free workshops, talks and screenings on the weekend of the annual Hollywood premiere of the three winning Jameson First Shot films. It’s an exciting opportunity for filmmaking talent of all levels to meet and get inspired in an informative and informal way.
We centred the 2017 programme on the concept of Story / Telling:
STORY is at the heart of every piece of moving image. It’s as old as the Hollywood Hills.
TELLING is how we get the story to an audience. This is constantly evolving and can influence story.
We brought this thinking to life by creating a high energy and playful workshop for filmmakers to find ways into writing. Led by renowned teacher of improvisational theatre Aretha Sills and award-winning filmmaker/teacher Sascha Rice.
Next up was a stellar line up of inspirational industry speakers from the world of film hosted by Empire Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Terri White. Dana Brunetti, Cassian Elwes, Billy Ray, Trish Sie and James Foley filled us in on their careers so far, future plans and hot tips.
