Robot Dreams

Released in UK by Curzon on 22 March 2024.

Based on the popular graphic novel by Sara Varon, Robot Dreams is simple in its premise; a 90 minute animation tracking the adventures of characters Dog and Robot in NYC during the '80s. What ensues is a compelling story of friendship lost and found, and a unique exploration of what it means to dream.

Berger’s film delights in the kind of eccentric, incidental sights and sounds from which dreams — human, animal or android — can spring.

Bittersweet and thoughtful, Robot Dreams trades in its dialogue to instead focus on expressive visual storytelling, complete with an 80s disco soundtrack to match the New York setting.

After a great reception at both Cannes and London Film Festival, the hype for Robot Dreams has continued to build after it recently received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature, and we couldn’t be happier that it’s getting a UK release.
