We’re going in for round 2 of our lockdown lists!

Whether you’re self-isolating, working from home, or just doing your bit, we’re all going to need each other to get through these strange and difficult times. And with cinemas closed and film releases on hold indefinitely, you might be faced with a very important question in the face of endless streaming possibilities: What should I watch tonight?

We’ve got you covered – the team at elevenfiftyfive and our sister company ourscreen have put together your essential Lockdown List, all available to stream at home right now. It sucks to be stuck indoors, but it’s even worse when you’re watching a bad movie. Here’s our list of what to watch, where, and why:

STRANGER THAN FICTION dir. Marc Foster (available on Netflix) – recommended by Reg

Stranger Than Fiction (2006, dir. Marc Forster) (Netflix) - An underrated dramedy starring Will Ferrell, Emma Thompson and Maggie Gyllenhaal, Harold's regular life is interrupted one day when a British when narration that only he can hear enters his life. Will Ferrell like you've never seen him.

MAN ON THE MOON dir. Milos Forman (BBC iPlayer) – recommended by Ellie

Biopic of controversial comedian Andy Kaufman played by Jim Carey. Kaufman’s unorthodox humour was often misunderstood and so this makes for a hilarious and cringe worthy watch. Jim Carey at his best.

An amazing ensemble cast tell the story of what actual happens in the world. If it were a bond, it’d be AAA-rated.

MID 90s dir. Jonah Hill (available on Netflix) – recommended by David

In 1990s Los Angeles, a 13-year-old spends his summer navigating between a troubled home life and a crew of new friends he meets at a skate shop. Killer soundtrack, super stylish, great performances and why the hell haven’t you seen it yet!

THOR: RAGNAROK dir. Taiki Waititi (available on Disney+) – recommended by Alex

Easily the best of the Marvel franchise. The Avengers are nothing without Thor, sometimes I wonder why they bother.

GHOST WORLD dir. Terry Zwigoff (available on Amazon Prime & BFI Player) – recommended by Faaria

Based on Daniel Clowes cult-classic comic, Ghost World follows Enid and Rebecca as they navigate the summer after graduating high school. A weird, true and beautiful portrait of adolescent alienation. Includes the Oscar-worthy quote, ‘If he’s so weird, how come he’s wearing Nikes?’

ERIN BROCKOVICH dir Steven Soderbergh (available on Netflix) – recommended by Lizzy

Julia Roberts plays Brockovich, a real life woman fighting ‘the man’ while juggling 3 kids and amazing 90s style. An easy but empowering watch that follows one of the biggest environmental scandals in US history.

DUMBER AND DUMBER dir. Farrell Brothers (available on Netflix) - recommended by Ian

“So you’re sayin’ there’s a chance” An all time banging comedy, the perfect pick me up for the current times and a real celebration of true friendship – that last scene still gets me. So put another shrimp on the barbie, sit back and let the good times roll.

GOOD TIME (dir. Benny Safdie & Josh Safdie (available on Netflix) – recommended by Gemma

From the guys that made Uncut Gems. You’ll be on the very edge of your sofa the whole way through – careful you don’t fall off! Prep your snacks for this one, you won’t want to move.
