Good Boy
Releasing in the UK by Vertigo on 10 October 2025.
Back in July, the first trailer for a brand new film dropped; an eerie, low-budget horror told from the perspective of a dog. This trailer amassed over 100 million views, the largest reach ever achieved by US distributor IFC, causing the company to take the film’s release wider than first planned, and ramp up the marketing. On 1,650 screens, it’s US release on the 3rd October marked the second biggest opening theater count for the company to date, with Good Boy making $2.25+ million in its opening weekend, the label’s second-best debut after 2024 hit Late Night With The Devil ($2.8 million).
On its US opening night, Altitude announced it had sold out international territories, with Good Boy opening theatrically in France, Spain and Germany later this month

In Good Boy, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever ‘Indy’ stars as ‘man’s best friend’ to Todd, who leaves the city when they relocate to a creepy, vacant family home in the country. Before long Indy senses invisible presences, follows phantom tracks, receives chilling warnings from a ghostly dog, and is haunted by glimpses of the previous resident’s gruesome demise. When a dark influence grips Todd, Indy must act.
The directorial debut of film professor Ben Leonberg, Good Boy stars the director’s own pooch in a canine performance so engrossing that at its SXSW premiere, festival organisers came up with a special prize for Indy, a one-off honour dubbed the ‘Howl of Fame’.
With hype building since this premiere in March, Good Boy finally hits UK screens on 10th October - the perfect movie night for you and your furry friend (maybe?) this Halloween season.
Don’t Miss!
