Marty Supreme

Releasing in the UK by Entertainment Film Distributors on 26 December 2025

It’s the name on everybody’s lips! You’ve watched the infamous Zoom sketch, you’ve seen the jacket on your favourite celebrity and you’ve seen photos of the blimps flying over LA, São Paulo and soon, London. The film at the centre of this instantly iconic marketing campaign? Marty Supreme, the latest from Josh Safdie, one half of the sibling duo behind the pulse-pumping (and anxiety inducing) thrill rides Uncut Gems and Good Time.

This Powder keg of a ping-pong movie confirms Timothée Chalamet as one of our greatest talents”

The Independent

Timothée Chalamet stars as the titular Marty, an aspiring ping pong champion who dreams of hitting the big time. After Chalamet’s viral acceptance speech after winning Best Actor for his performance as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown at last year’s SAG Awards, it’s hard not to see the allusions between him as an actor, and his character Marty Mauser, two ingenues ‘in pursuit of greatness’.

As we saw last year for A Complete Unknown, Chalamet is the type of actor who completely absorbs himself into a role - not just whilst making the film, but whilst promoting it too. Last year saw Chalamet appearing at red carpet events dressed in iconic Bob Dylan looks, and performing his songs on SNL. This year, the campaign for Marty Supreme launched with a video of Chalamet dressed in one of the now iconic Marty Supreme jackets, wearing a massive orange ping pong ball on his head. But the hype around Marty Supreme isn’t all style, no substance - indeed, as early reviews of the film have indicated, this film might just be Chalamet’s best.
